Performance Notes"...It was a scene that may only be witnessed once in a blue moon - this after-recital, the audience standing by their seats and in the gangways, those on the platform surrounding the piano.
McCormack must have sung for over half an hour after the official programme was ended before his admirers would permit him to go. In the street outside there was a cordon of police to protect the great singer on the way to his car after it was all over..."
