| Performance Notes | James Rhodes has had an astonishing life. After a traumatic childhood, he found his salvation through classical music. With sheer determination he overcame his experiences and went on to become a writer, commentator, tv presenter and renowned concert pianist, performing sold-out concerts around the world.
Using his trademark 'stand-up style', insights and anecdotes on classical music, maverick pianist James Rhodes returns to London with his highly unique show. This series of concerts is a tribute to the therapeutic powers of music, as well as a fascinating insight into James' life and the lives of the composers he performs.
James has recently toured the UK, released his fifth studio album 'Five' which went straight to number 1 on iTunes and launched his live in concert DVD, 'Love in London', recorded at the Arts Theatre in London's West End.
Rhodes' new series for Channel 4, Don't Stop The Music, aired this Autumn in the UK. James is passionate about the power of music to change lives and is shocked at the state of music education in the UK. The two-part documentary followed James' attempt to give schoolchildren the chance to learn a musical instrument by calling for an 'instrument amnesty' - a mission to collect unused musical instruments from around the country. Prior to this James presented and performed in the acclaimed Channel 4 documentary Notes from the Inside. |
