Orchestra or Band | Henry Bateman Trio (Henry Bateman - vocal, guitar, Set Bye - violin, Katie Griffin - piano, backing vocal) |
Performance Notes | These concerts were run in partnership with Music for Youth as part of the Royal Albert Halls commitment to supporting the next generation of talented young musicians and giving them a platform to shine.
Henry Bateman is a guitarist/singer/songwriter from Gloucestershire. Never one to be in a 'mould', Henry's style has been influenced by a range of brilliant and original guitarists and singer/songwriters - among them Peter Gabriel, Michael Hedges and James Taylor - leading to his unique ability to play sparkling percussive guitar and write and sing his own compositions with a confidence and flair that is truly awesome. He has a disarmingly charming and unassuming approach to delivering his own sets at gigs - with a warm sense of humour and normal sized ego - and then he starts to play, fingers flying up and down the fret board. He released the "Open Arms" EP in April 2013, and is currently recording his debut album, due for release in May 2015. For this performance Henry will be accompanied by two outstanding musicians: Seth Bye on violin and Katie Griffin on piano and backing vocals |
