Prize Presentations
Performance NotesThe annual brass band championships return, with the nation’s top brass bands battling for the Challenge Trophy. Past competitors have included Black Dyke, Grimethorpe Colliery, Brighouse and Rastrick, YBS, Leyland and Fairey FP.

1st - Cory (Philip Harper),
2nd - Brighouse & Rastrick (David King),
3rd - Fairey (Garry Cutt),
4th - Flowers (Paul Holland)

Cory, Fairey and Flowers pre-qualified for 2016 National Final.
Brighouse & Rastrick also qualified for EBBC 2017 as English representative.

The first prize was The Challenge Trophy, The Stanley Boddington Memorial Trophy for the winning conductor, A pennant presented by Kapital Promotions Ltd., and £2,000 awarded by Geneva Instruments.

The second prize was The National Contesting Council Trophy dedicate dto the late James Abbot MBE and £1,500 donated by Kapitol Promotions Ltd.

Third Prize was The Denis Wick Trophy and £1,00 donated by Denis Wick Products.

Other awards included the Award for the Best Instrumentalist (presented by Brass Band World magazine), Award for the Inning Band's Secretary (The NCC Trophy) and the Award for the Youngest Player of the Day (In Memory of Dr Roy Newsome).

Exhibitor stands were held in the West Arena Foyer and Berry Brothers & Rudd Bar.
