Performance NotesExperience Tim Burton’s Academy Award-winning 2010 fantasy film Alice in Wonderland on the big screen in the glorious surroundings of the Royal Albert Hall, with Danny Elfman’s magical score being performed simultaneously by a live orchestra and choir.

Directed by Tim Burton and written by Linda Woolderton, Alice in Wonderland is an imaginative new twist on Lewis Carroll’s original beloved novel and sees a 19-year-old Alice (Mia Wasikowska) return to the whimsical world she first entered as a child. With the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp), the White Queen (Anne Hathaway), the Red Queen (Helena Bonham Carter) and the White Rabbit (Michael Sheen), the extraordinary characters all come to life richer and more colourful than ever.

This high-definition screening with live orchestral and choral accompaniment from the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, the Maida Vale Singers and the Cardinal Vaughan School Schola Cantorum, all conducted by John Mauceri, will bring the record-breaking film to life in an incredible feast for the eyes, ears and heart, captivating an audience of all ages.

Composer Danny Elfman, composed new music for the film’s finale and was in attendance to hear his piece make its its World Premiere at the Hall.

"I felt that something big and dynamic deserved to play out the end of the concert so I wrote something completely new to play from the end of Alice’s Theme to the very end of the credits. London will be the first time this will be performed." - Danny Elfman.

The film was rated PG by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC).
