After the huge success of its 100th anniversary celebrations here in 2012, the Royal Variety Performance returned to the Royal Albert Hall for its 87th show and second ever appearance at the Hall.
Award-winning actor and comic Jack Whitehall will host the Royal Variety Performance 2015, introducing performers including Sir Elton John, Kylie Minogue, One Direction, a magical show-stopping moment from the cast of Disney and Cameron Mackintoshs Mary Poppins.
Also taking to the stage will be: Little Mix, a water based acrobatic performance from Cirque Du Soleil; Britains Got Talent winners Jules, Matisse and Friends, a rare appearance from Jeff Lynnes ELO, music from Ricky Martin, The Corrs, Brandon Flowers, Josh Groban and Kacey Musgraves. Comedy from Chris Ramsey, Romesh Ranganathan and Matt Forde. Plus the cast of The Play That Goes Wrong, joined by some surprise star cameos, and Beverly Knight performs a number from Cats.
The evening was hosted by comedian Jack Whitehall, who at 27 became the youngest ever host of the Royal Variety Performance.
The show was filmed and broadcast on ITV at 19:30 on 8 December 2015.
The annual event is organised on behalf of the Entertainment Artistes Benevolent Fund, of which HM Queen Elizabeth II is patron. All proceeds from the performance are donated to the fund.
HRH Prince Henry of Wales was received by Wing Commander Michael Dudgeon (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London). |
