Performance Notes | The last time Lianne La Havas performed at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the Teenage Cancer Trust concert 2014 she enchanted the audience with her soulful vocals and nimble guitar work. Were excited to welcome Lianne back to the Hall to perform music from her second album Blood, at an Albert Sessions show in March 2016.
Lianne La Havas made a huge breakthrough with her Top 5 debut album in 2012 Is Your Love Big Enough? which sold 200,000 copies and won Album of the Year at the iTunes Best of 2012 Awards, as well as Barclaycard Mercury Prize and Ivor Novello Best Album nominations. Her recently released follow-up Blood, heavily inspired by her Jamaican heritage, reached the #2 chart position.
After opening her set accompanied only by her guitar, before long La Havas was joined on stage by both a full band and later by the Norbury Manor Celeste Choir, the vocal group from her old school.
In addition to performing, Lianne held an Albert Sessions education workshops on the morning of this event.
The event was filmed. |
