Performance NotesJules Buckley and his Metropole Orkest return to the Proms to celebrate the career of composer, arranger, conductor, producer and all-round musical giant Quincy Jones. Recent musical partners of Quincy’s join the longest-established jazz orchestra in existence as special guests to collaborate on new arrangements of hits both old and new – and the great man himself makes an appearance.
Broadcast live on BBC Four.

Princess Margriet of the Netherlands attended the Prom in an unofficial capacity.

Proms debuts for Quincy Jones, Cory Henry, Richard Bona, Jacob Collier and Alfredo Rodríguez.

"It was worth wiating until the end to see if the man they call "Q" made a brief appearance. Slightly stooped - he is 83 after all - but dressed in a hip suit, Qunicy Jones took to the podium to lead the Metropole Orkest through his version of Let the Good Times Roll, arranged for Ray Charles nearly 60 years ago, but still brassy, still super-cool."
