Performance Notes | After an unparalleled career as one of the worlds leading classical ballet dancers, superstar Carlos Acosta prepares to retire his ballet shoes with a spectacular farewell performance at the Royal Albert Hall.
For this very special programme, Carlos will perform extensively throughout the evening in some of his favourites from the classical ballet repertoire including Kenneth MacMillans Winter Dreams, Mayerling and Requiem, George Balanchines Apollo, Marius Petipas Don Quixote and Memoria by Ramberts Miguel Altunaga.
Carlos will be joined on stage by some of his closest contemporaries from The Royal Ballet including Yuhui Choe, Ryoichi Hirano, Sarah Lamb, Laura Morera, Marianela Nuñez and Valentino Zuchetti alongside Cuban dancers Gabriela Lugo and Luis Valle. They will perform an extract from Balanchines Rubies, an extract from Frederick Ashtons Rhapsody, Michel Fokines Scheherazade and Dying Swan, as well as Raul Reinosos Anadromous.
The programme will be accompanied by a live orchestra conducted by Paul Murphy, and feature the Pegasus Choir, one of Londons most accomplished chamber choirs.
