| Performance Notes | John Williams classic score to Jurassic Park will thunder through the Royal Albert Hall this year, as the iconic venue hosts the world premiere of Steven Spielbergs masterpiece in a film-and-live-orchestra extravaganza.
These special shows will see the 1993 blockbuster screened in full in stunning high-definition on a giant screen, whilst the unforgettable music is played live on stage by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, conducted by Ludwig Wicki.
Spielbergs triple-Academy Award-winning Jurassic Park transports us to a secluded island where scientists have succeeded in reviving the age of dinosaurs in a brand new, immersive theme park the likes of which has never been seen before.
The film sees palaeontologists Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) form part of an exclusive group invited for a sneak preview of the parks wonders, but when things go terribly wrong, they must fight for their lives against unimaginable dangers in a desperate attempt to escape from a world in which dinosaurs rule once again.
Box Hospitality was available for this event. The 'It's a Dinosaur' Cinema Box Package included exclusive hire of a box, nachos, drinks, burgers and cup cakes, costing £2,148 (Grand Tier), £1,432 (Loggia) or £676 (Second Tier) per box. The 'So Who's Hungry' package included an exclusive Stalls seat, a cocktail on arrival, two course meal in Elgar Restaurant and a complimentary drink, costing £159 per person.
A red carpet was laid for VIPs in the West Car Park for entry via Door 6. A 'dinosaur' and dinsosaur wrangler roamed the red carpet before guests arrived. VIP guests attending included Miranda Hart (comedian), Myleene Klass (model, presenter), Samuel West (actor), John Krasinski (actor), and Stephen Merchant (comedian).
"***** The Royal Albert Hall is the perfect venue for an event like this. The sound travels around the hall, thundering and echoing, fully immersing you in the world of Isla Nublar and its prehistoric inhabitants. Everyone loves that theme music and to hear it live will bring a tear (or two) to the eye. The orchestra is so good that for moments you forget that it isnt the usual on-the-tape film, then you experience a surge of goosebumps that you only get from a live performance. Dont rush out as the credits role, this isnt your usual multiplex venue. Stay to the end so that you can fully appreciate these exceptionally talented musicians.
The audience too were fantastic. Should you go, remember youre watching it with a room full of like-minded folks who love Spielbergs classic as much as you. Embrace that shared fandom, its something truly special.
