"Some of us assumed that we had seen Tony Bennett say farewell to London a good decade ago. Yet here he was again, 90 years old and still swinging...He still has his appetite for a quality song. He could even do a shimmy of two...From t he moment Bennett crusied into Michael Legrand's Watch What Happens, all was right with the world...In a surprise at the encore, he returned to the stage with a white-haired gent in tow. It turned out to be a slightly bemused Dustin Hoffman. Would he be giving us a glimpse of his jazz piano skills? No Such luck. He merely waved and made his exit." (The Times, 30 June 2017) |
