Performance Notes | BBC Proms Sessions, run in partnership with Royal Albert Hall Education and Outreach, are a series of free workshops and masterclasses which offer young people aged 11-21 years from all musical backgrounds the opportunity to work with some of the fantastic artists appearing at the Proms.
The Sessions aim to develop the skills and confidence of aspiring young musicians while giving them a unique opportunity to work closely with soloists, conductors and either in the intimate setting of the Elgar Room or on the stage of the Royal Albert Hall! Sessions range from masterclasses to Q&As to practical music-making sessions, all dependent on the artists involved.
In 2017, Proms Sessions will include practical music-making workshops with jazz trumpeter James Morrison (3 August) and professional musicians from Chineke! (22 August). |
