Performance Notes | BBC Proms Sessions, run in partnership with Royal Albert Hall Education & Outreach, are a series of free workshops and masterclasses which offer young people the opportunity to work with some of the fantastic artists appearing at the Proms. The Sessions aim to develop the skills and confidence of aspiring young musicians while giving them a unique opportunity to work closely with soloists, conductors and either in the intimate setting of the Elgar Room or on the stage of the Royal Albert Hall!
At this session with musicians from Chineke!, the UKs first majority BME orchestra, young musicians aged 11-18 will have the chance to explore a brand new work by Hannah Kendall, The Spark Catchers, ahead of its world premiere at Prom 62. Together with professional musicians from Chineke! and composer Hannah Kendall youll workshop extracts from The Spark Catchers and create your own version to perform to an audience of friends and family on the stage of the Royal Albert Hall.
This is a practical, creative session open to orchestral instrumentalists aged 11-18 of a grade 6 standard (or equivalent) or above. |
