Moostack Trio are a new London-based group, formed of longstanding friends and collaborators Harry Christelis, Andrea Di Biase and Dave Storey.
Exploring compositions written by Harry, the main focus is an exploration of the space within the music, and using that space to instigate highly interactive conversations between the three distinct voices.
Through a keen interest in the music of Bill Frisell, Paul Motian, Bill Evans, and Lionel Loueke, the idea of blurring the lines between soloists is clear in the trios playing, and always keeps performances fresh and inventive. Furthermore, an exploration of odd time signatures and rhythmic cycles imbue each composition with its own unique flavour, while keeping grounded through strong grooves and simple folk harmonies. |
