Performance NotesAward winning Hollywood composer James Newton Howard will premiere his first ever ‘greatest hits’ show at the Royal Albert Hall on Friday 3 November 2017.

3 Decades of Music for Hollywood will celebrate Howard’s many Tinseltown triumphs, unforgettable music from The Dark Knight, the Hunger Games series, blockbusters including The Sixth Sense and Peter Jackson’s King Kong, rom-coms Pretty Woman and My Best Friend’s Wedding, and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Royal Academy of Music Orchestra and Crouch End Festival Chorus, joined by soloist James Ehnes (violin) will be playing James Newton Howard’s greatest scores, conducted by the composer himself, matched with clips and montages from the movies. James Newton Howard will also tell stories from his incredible life working with many of the most famous names in film and music.

The Duchess of Gloucester attended as President of the Royal Academy of Music.

The event was filmed for the artist's archive.
