Performance NotesThe Festival of Remembrance, held in honour of those who have given their lives in the service of their country, has been marked at the Royal Albert Hall annually since 1923.

On Saturday 11 November 2017, The Royal British Legion’s annual Festival of Remembrance will be marked for the 94th time, presented by Huw Edwards.

In the presence of Her Majesty The Queen and members of the Royal Family, Emeli Sande, Tom Odell, Melanie C, Alfie Boe and Lesley Garrett perform alongside The Queen’s Colour Squadron and The Band of HM Royal Marines. From the two World Wars to resent day conflict, as the poppy petals fall, the Festival will remember all victims of war and those that made the ultimate sacrifice.

The event marks the centenaries of women's service in the regular armed forces, the Battle of Passchendaele, the creation of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and the 100th birthday of forces' sweetheart Dame Vera Lynn. It also commemorates the 75th anniversary of the Battle of El Alamein and the creation of the RAF Regiment.
