Performance NotesThe Royal Albert Hall will roll out the red carpet once again for the European Premiere of 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi'. Rian Johnson’s 'The Last Jedi' is the latest instalment in the Skywalker saga following on from 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens', which was released in 2015 and is the biggest film of all time in the UK.

The Royal Albert Hall was specially transformed into an IMAX theatre for this event, the first time in its history.

HRH Duke of Cambridge and his brother HRH Prince Henry of Wales made cameo appearances in the film. The Royal Foundation invited more than 400 young people, military veterans and volunteers who had taken part in its programmes. Representatives from Coach Care, Full Effect, and military programmes such as the Endeavour Fund attended. The foundation aslo invited some of the families who were affected by the Grenfell Tower tragedy, alongside representatitves of the local fire services and the charities and organisations who were helping them recover and try and rebuild their lives.

HRH The Duke of Cambridge and his brother HRH Prince Henry of Wales were received by Mr Kenneth Olisa (Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London). The Royal pair were greeted on the red carpet by BB-8 who 'bowed' to each Prince. Once in the Hall they were presented with Stormtrooper helmets by 12 year old Lily Chambers and 8 year old Eloisa Lerner.

A very limited number of public tickets were on sale.

The film was rated 12A by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC).

The largest red carpet and external staging in the Hall's history was laid on Prince Consort Road and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Steps.

VIPs in attendance at the event included: Alexandra Burke (singer, performer), Danny O'Donoghue (singer-songwriter), Leigh Francis (presenter, actor), Bob Iger (The CEO Walt Disney Company), Amy Jackson (actress, model), Bruno Tonioli (dance choreographer, presenter), Myleene Klass (broadcaster), Tallia Storm (singer, model), Elvira Lind (film director), Lorraine Ashbourne (actress), Becca Dudley (presenter), Simon Pegg (actor, director), Mark Strong (actor), Ivy Mae (model), Danny DeVito (actor), The Vamps, Chris Moyles (broadcaster), Matt Johnson (), J-Ax and Fabio Rovazzi (musicians), Saffron Spackling (musician), Beverley Turner (presenter), James Cracknell (Olympian), Guy Garvey and Marcus Garvey (musicians, Elbow), Mariah Idrissi (model), Charlie Barker (blogger), Fleur De Force (vlogger), New Hope Club, Andrew Garfield (actor), Eunice Olumide (broadcaster, model), Johnny Vegas (comedian).
