Performance Notes | The Royal Choral Society has performed Handels Messiah on Good Friday afternoon at the Royal Albert Hall every year since 1876. This annual concert is one of Londons great Easter traditions and the perfect way to spend Good Friday afternoon.
For the 2018 performance of Great Britains favourite choral masterpiece, the choir will be accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra alongside quartet of superb soloists, all conducted by the choirs Music Director, Richard Cooke.
It is thought that the Royal Choral Society, the choir that was formed for the opening of the Royal Albert Hall in 1871, has sung Handels magnificent Messiah more than any other choir estimated as around 280 times. |
