Performance Notes | BAFTA Award-winning artist, composer, musician and producer Ólafur Arnalds will take to the Royal Albert Hall stage for the very first time.
Featuring a uniquely wired ensemble of a string quartet, percussion and Ólafurs playground of pianos and synthesisers, this concert will see him present past, current and brand new material in a new light.
The centrepiece of the show is a generative algorithm device that Ólafur has designed to control two self-playing pianos acting as one.
"I am truly excited and honoured to perform at the legendary Royal Albert Hall. This one-of-a-kind venues acoustic, design and wonderful history are truly special, and I couldnt think of a better place to present a new chapter in my musical life than here!" (Ólafur Arnalds)
On 12 May Ólafur Arnalds announced on social media that they would be creating a "The Road to Royal Albert Hall" Film which would document the audience and his journeys getting to the Hall. Fans were asked to submit video footage of their concert-day; travelling, getting in the tube, standing in line, going out for a drink before the show, etc. This was then edited together into a short film played during the concert.
