Performance Notes"A Professional Night
It no longer can be assumed that a big night of boxing at the Royal Albert Hall will be an affair of professionals. In recent years, partly owing perhaps to the dearth of professional fighters of personality, it even has seemed that more people in London, at any rate, have preferred to watch the amatur tournaments, with their number of variety of short contests. Professional promoters have been wise enough to follow suit in this respect, and Mr Jeff Dickson, whose venture it was last night, presented three contests of no more than 10 rounds between representative French and British boxers, in addition to other supporting bouts. There would have been a fourth contest with two champions in it but for the last-minute withdrawal of Eugene Drouhin, the holder of the French lightweight title..." (The Times, 10 November 1931)

Eugene Drouhin was substitued for Leo Phillips.
