Orchestra or Band | Electric Jalaba (Simo Lagnawi, Dave De Rose, Henry Keen, Oliver Keen, Nathaniel Keen, Barnaby Keen) |
Performance Notes | RAH have programmed three acts for the GERF main stage ('Expression Stage') on Saturday, June 29th. This is an utdoor stage on Exhibition Road, open to all and free to attend. Continental Drifts are the production company stage managing the event(s). The timings for the stage are 11 am until 5 pm, with five performances of roughly 50 minutes each. The Royal College of Music have programmed two brass bands for two of these slots; the artists programmed by RAH are opening and closing the stage with one act playing the middle slot.
A deep, psychedelic, groove-heavy meeting between Moroccan Gnawa master Simo Lagnawi, Italian/English drummer Dave De Rose and four musical brothers; Henry, Oliver, Nathaniel and Barnaby Keen from Dorset (UK). Traditional songs about colourful spirits, mysterious women, men that divide oceans and armies of conquerors weave themselves among enormous infectious grooves, analogue effects and warped guitars. |
