Performance NotesOn Monday 30 September, Richard Thompson fans were invited to celebrate the folk legend’s 70th birthday in our auditorium alongside some very special guests. The incredible line-up featured the Thompson clan, Pink Floyd legend David Gilmour, Richard’s schoolmate Hugh Cornwell of the Stranglers, Derek Smalls (formerly of the band formally known as Spinal Tap), Loudon Wainwright III and many fantastic vocalists including Marry Waterson, Eliza Carthy and Kate Rusby – a more than fitting tribute to, and celebration of, a truly exceptional artist.

Lots of guest artists involved in the show celebrated Richard's 70th birthday with an impromptu singing of happy birthday at the end.
