Performance NotesEnglish space rock band Hawkwind will perform a once in a lifetime 50th Anniversary concert at the world famous Royal Albert Hall in November 2019. This concert follows on from an incredible 2018 which saw them tour their groundbreaking production In search of Utopia – Infinity and beyond to sellout audiences all over the UK.

Founded in 1969, Hawkwind are regarded as one of the founders of and most influential bands of the genre. However, various influences ranging from hard to progressive rock were incorporated into the band’s sound over the years as it went through numerous personnel changes.

These days, Hawkwind are most closely associated with their only remaining founding member, the singer, songwriter and guitarist Dave Brock. In his 50-year long career, Dave Brock has worked with notable musicians including Lemmy Kilmister, Ginger Baker and Huw Lloyd-Langton. Hawkwind actually scored their biggest hit in the UK in 1972 with the single Silver Machine, featuring Lemmy on bass.

Brock’s band continues to perform and record new material, including their 2018 effort, Road to Utopia. This 31st album features a band that is as quirky, charming and versatile as ever.

Flags featuring the Hawkwind logo were handed out to the audience to create a 'Last Night of the Proms' effect whilst the band played 'Land of Hope and Glory.' During the interval, the band screened images of lost and stolen dogs (curated with help from the website DogLost) to raise the profile of missing pets.
