Performance Notes | Renowned for her unusual vocal style - inspired by jazz vocalists like Billie Holiday - and inimitable electro-pop sound, Emilie shot to domestic fame in 2013 with her debut single, Pstereo, and topped the Norwegian album charts the following year with her first album, Like I'm a Warrior, before winning Best New Artist and Best Pop Act at the 'Norwegian GRAMMYs' (Spelleman awards).
Following a serious illness, she returned in 2018 with Tranquile Emilie, which won her two more Spelleman awards - Best Album and Best Pop Act - and toured the record extensively, culminating in two sold-out nights at the 1,400-capacity Oslo Opera House. Her third album, the confessional, intoxicating Let Her Breathe, was released in June 2020 to widespread acclaim. |
