Seven-time Grammy nominee Anoushka Shankar performed an exclusive set from the Royal Albert Hall auditorium for WOWs International Womens Day event on 8 March, entitled Women, Power and Change. The performance is followed by a special interview of the British-Indian-American sitarist and composer with broadcaster Gemma Cairney. International superstar Fatoumata Diawara also joins WOWs line up for IWD.
Singer-songwriter and cellist Ayanna Witter-Johnson also performed, whose recent release Rise Up, featuring Akala, has become a revolutionary anthem for young Black people. Recorded in one of our lesser-known spaces, the Prince of Wales room, this event is part of Kimberlé Crenshaw In Conversation on 12 March and will feature a special interview with Gemma Cairney. |
