Performance NotesThe first of a series of discussions upon objects exhibited at the Exhibition.

According to The Daily Telegraph (19 June 1873) the room originally booked for this event (likely to have been the West Theatre / Elgar Room) proved too small because of the demand for tickets, and the conference was moved to the main auditorium. Amongst those present were Lady Dorothy Neville, Lord A S Churchill, Sir Daniel Cooper, Sir T Bazley MP, Mr Bass MP, Mr H Durlacher Cole CB, Mr F Bovet (Shanghai), Mr J Chadwick (Manchester), Mr G Unsworth (Derby), Mr Peters (Derby), and Mr H C McDonald.
