"To enable all classes to enjoy Music in the Royal Albert Hall, the Council have undertaken to give Twelve Concerts in the Hall on Tuesday evenings, beginning on the 12 March and ending on the 28 May 1872."

A decision was later taken to extend the People's Concerts until the end of September 1872.
