'These Concerts, which consisted of glee, songs and instrumental music, with recitals on the Great Organ, have ben attended by so large a number of people that the Council have determined on continuing them on EVERY TUESDAY until the end of September.' (Programme)

It was later decided to continue the concerts 'until further notice'.

The event was attended by the Japanese ambassador and party who toured the gallery and were then seated in the Prince of Wales' box for the concert.
