Performance NotesWorld-renowned handpan player and composer Manu Delago presents his first audiovisual solo-programme ‘Environ Me’ as part of Journeys, a festival curated by Nitin Sawhney, celebrating 150 years of immigration.

After several years as a an international touring musician with Björk, Olafur Arnalds, The Cinematic Orchestra and Anoushka Shankar, as well as star of the multi-award-winning music-and mountain-film Parasol Peak, the Grammy-nominated artist now transforms into a one-man-orchestra.

Somewhere between ambient electronica and neoclassical, Manu Delago’s acoustic percussion instruments melt with electronic beats and the sounds of our natural environment. Accompanying this, astonishing live visuals bring out the sounds of water, fire, animals, locomotion, wind and other surroundings into the Elgar Room.
