Performance Notes"A BOY CONDUCTOR.
WILLY FERRERO AT ALBERT HALL.
It has certainly not been given to Willy Ferrero the little seven-year-old conductor, to urst like a bolt from the blue upon an unexpectant England...Such ws the reputation that he was given that the chief surprise at the reception given in his honour at the Albert Hall yesterday afternoon was to find him living up to it.
...As he stood there yesterday, a tiny figure in a knickerbocker suit of plum-coloured velvet, with a shock of brown hair falling over a very musical forehead, directing the New Symphony Orchestra whose members had, for this occassion, their backs turned to the audience, so that their conductor might face it, he made it abundantly clear that he has great talent...
His forthcoming concerts...will give a better opportunity of dsicovering what he can and what he cannot do than it was possible to enjoy yesterday, and further judgment may be suspended. But he cerainly made it quite evident that he is a very clever and very interesting boy."
