| Related Archival Material | "...Last night's meeting was a remarkable one of its kind. The Albert Hall seats 20,000* people, but no less than 64,000 applications for tickets were received. Two hours before the meeting commenced crowds of people were waiting at the doors, and the hll quickly filled. The audience comprised all classes, and it is interesting to note that no fewer than a hundred members of Parliament, of all shades of political opinion, accepted invitations to be present as spectactors, and several found seats in the Royal box. Special trains were run from the provinces, bringing up a great many visitors and members."
