| Performance Notes | The Times (27 January 1912) reported that, 'It is the first time that he [Mr Bonar Law] has addressed the party from a London platform in his official capacity.'
"The Albert Hall has probably never contained a more enthusiastic audience than that whichc greeted Mr Bonar Law, MP....After last night's triumph in the Albert Hall there can be no doubt as to Mr Bonar Law's position in the Unionist party. The delighted cheers which there greeted his crushing indictment of the Government, and his unsparing exposure of the recklessness and trickery on which they have so far thriven, hailed him not merely Leader of the Opposition in the House of Commons, but Leader of the whole party. It was but the third time that he had spoken on the public platform since his unanimous election to the former post. Yet what Unionist, as he reads the speech, will not agree that with the hour come the man?"
