Orchestra or Band | Band of the Grenadier Guards |
Performance Notes | "CANTEEN BOARD BALL There was a sound of revelry at the Albert Hall last night when a grand ball was held under the auspices of the Amalgamated Sports Club of the Navy and Army Canteen Board. The band of the Grenadier Guards, under the direction of Captain A Williams, discoursed sweet music, and the function was a success in every sense of the word. All the leading members of the Board graced the proceedings with their presence, as well as the heads of numerous other Government Departments.
The ball was a triumph from beginning to end, the huge danving floor being filled with dancers. Major Van den Bergh, who was in charge of the arrangements is to be warmly congratulated upon their completedness." (Pall Mall Gazette 16 January 1919) |
