| Performance Notes | "Doyle Wins in One Round
Jack Doyle's reappearance in the ring with Frank Borrington of Derby, for an opponent, did not succeed in filling the Albert Hall last night, neither did the contest last more than 83 seconds, including the count, but it certainly provided a real fight while it lasted. Doyle the boxer may still be a novice, but Doyle the hitter gained another smashing victory, and it would be churlish to dispute the fact that, in an exchange of blows, not many heavyweights could hope to out-punch him."
