Performance Notes | Sir Woodman Burbidge, who retired from position of managing director of Harrods, was presented with a silver casket and a volume of 7,000 signatures of the staff.
"HARRODS DANCE. SIR WOODMAN BURBIDGE HONOURED. The great circular floor of the Albert Hall looked like a vast himan kaleidoscope last night, when more than 3,000 gaily-clad dancers moved round in the rays of constantly changing coloured spotlights... Seven thousand employees were there, those who could not find room to dance thronging the boxes and galleries... A sum of £200 was presented to Lady Burbidge, who has expressed the intention of giving the money to St George's Hospital, to endow a 'Lady Woodman Burbidge' Cot for the children of Harrods staff."
