Performance NotesThe event was originally scheduled for 2020 and was titled Great British Composers: War and Remembrance, but was rescheduled to this date due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee - 70 Years is the very first high-profile event to take place in this unprecedented year of celebrations marking the Queen’s seventy years of service.

Hosted by the BBC’s Sophie Raworth, it will feature music performed by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, conducted by Mike Dixon.

Works by Great British composers including Edward Elgar, Benjamin Britten and William Walton will take centre stage, with a focus on music played at Her Majesty’s 1953 Coronation and other key moments of the Queen’s reign.

With 130 visits to the Royal Albert Hall during her lifetime, this event holds particular poignancy.

Special guests will recount their experiences of meeting the Monarch as the nation celebrates this special anniversary in our nation’s history.

The event is in support of SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, which is proud to present this momentous evening in celebration of its Royal Patron.

Hopsitality packages were available:
Luxury Box Package £2,404 (Loggia Box), £1002 (Second Tier Box) which included private hire of a box, champagne, beverages, waiter, canapes and cold dishes pre-show and hot food and dessert canapes in the interval.

During the concert the Ukranian National Anthem was played and the organ was lit up with yellow and blue lights in support of Ukraine during its invasion by Russia.
