Sarah Pennington started learning the horn at the age of 8 with Katie Lang and has been a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain for three years, and this year she holds the position of joint principal horn.
Samuel Balchin joined the RCMJD in September 2020 and studies trumpet with Torbjorn Hultmark. Sam has performed Shostakovich Symphony no 5 with the RCMJD Symphony Orchestra as principal trumpet, as well as being a finalist in the Peter Morrison Concerto Competition performing the Aritunian Trumpet Concerto.
Rosemary Ball has been a student at the RCM Junior Department since September 2018. She is this years National Youth Orchestras saxophonist, performing Rachmaninovs Symphonic Dances at the Barbican and Warwick Arts Centre.
The Royal College of Music Junior Department offers advanced training to young musicians aged 8 to 18, providing individually-tailored programmes of instrument/voice/composition lessons, supported by chamber music, orchestra, choir and musicianship classes. |
