Performance Notes | Classic FM Live returns to the Royal Albert Hall in April 2022 for a world-class concert, featuring the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, The Band of the Royal Air Force Regiment, and star trumpeter Alison Balsom.
The concert, hosted by Alan Titchmarsh and Margherita Taylor, will be a celebration of music composed for royalty, performed by artists with historic ties to the British royal family. Handels Zadok The Priest, Parrys Jerusalem and I Was Glad, Waltons Crown Imperial all feature. Alison Balsom will perform the world premiere of a new piece by Classic FMs Composer in Residence, Debbie Wiseman, commissioned by Classic FM to commemorate Her Majesty the Queens Platinum Jubilee, as well as Hummels Trumpet Concerto in E-flat.
Soprano Masabane Cecilia Rangwanasha will sing music by Holst and Handel and rising star of the violin Esther Abrami will perform The Lark Ascending by Vaughan Williams.
The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will be joined by the Royal Choral Society and, in the second half, The Band of the RAF Regiment and a Contingent of the RAF Pipes and Drums, all under the baton of esteemed British conductor Barry Wordsworth.
