Performance Notes | Debut Royal Albert Hall performance from Rfus Wainwright.
A similar concept to the highly acclaimed Christmas show held at Carnegie Hall in 2008 the show featured Grammy-nominated Rufus Wainwright, a Canadian-American singer-songwriter, his sister Martha and mother Kate McGarrigle, a Canadian folk music singer-songwriter. The Wainwrights performed alongside a whole host of guests promising a great night full of surprises.
Kate McGarrigle, Wainwright's mother, performed at the event, which raised $55,000 for the Kate McGarrigle Fund, which was established in 2008 to raise awareness of sarcoma, a rare cancer that affects connective tissue such as bone, muscle, nerves, and cartilage. It was the last public performance by his mother before her death six weeks later |
