Performance NotesJames Bond film composer David Arnold today will be bringing his second annual Concert for Care, a charity event for Care International at the Royal Albert Hall this autumn that will feature one of the biggest ever gatherings of top movie composers. The RPO will play selections of film scores and songs introduced by a dozen men and women who have written some of the most popular film music of recent years. Besides Arnold, Grammy Award-winner for "Independence Day" (1996), who has written the score for the last five 007 films, the concert will star Rachel Portman, who has three Oscar nominations including a win for "Emma" (1996); Anne Dudley, Oscar-winner for "The Full Monty" (1997); and Dario Marianelli, who was Oscar nominated for "Pride & Prejudice" (2005) and won both an Academy Award and a Golden Globes Award for "Atonement" (2005).

Others involved include Craig Armstrong, Bafta and Golden Globes winner for "Moulin Rouge" (2001) and Grammy winner for "Ray" (2004); George Fenton, Oscar-nominated for "The Fisher King" (1991), "Dangerous Liaisons" (1988), "Cry Freedom" (1987), and "Gandhi" (1982) and winner of three Bafta TV Awards including one for "The Blue Planet" (2001); and Christopher Gunning, Bafta winner for "La Vie En Rose" (2007) and winner of three Bafta TV Awards.

Also on hand will be Patrick Doyle, who won Oscar nominations for "Hamlet" (1996) and "Sense and Sensibility" (1995); and flying in from California for the event are Harry Gregson-Williams ("Shrek," "Prince of Persia," "Chronicles of Narnia"), John Powell (the "Bourne" films, "Happy Feet," "Chicken Run") and John Ottman ("The Usual Suspects," "Superman Returns," "X-Men 2"). Arnold, an ambassador for Care International currently working on the music for the upcoming "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader," staged the first Concert for Care at London's O2 Academy Brixton in 2009 with a line up of pop and rock stars.
