| Performance Notes | This accordion-led band consists of demi-monde decadance and cabaret carnavalism. Polka, Tango and Gypsy Swing with songs about vodka, David Icke, the end of the world and unrequited dread. Frontman Tom Baker is a regular solo performer on the burgeoning London cabaret scene, while the rest of the band are experienced musicians with experience of everything from latin guitar to experimental jazz, via electronica and pop. Together they create an engaging and uplifting sound, with a wry lyrical sensibility. Blending their own "new standards" with a selection of unlikely and sometimes unfamiliar covers they beguile and entertain in a way that is truly their own. |
