Main Performers | Carl Donnelly, Helen Keen, Fergus Craig - speakers |
Performance Notes | Carl Donnelly started performing stand-up in 2005 and quickly established himself as one of the UK's most exciting young comedians. His conversational, silly sense of humour have seen him win a host of awards and nominations. Carl has appeared on various TV shows including Mock The Week, Dave's One Night Stand, Stand Up for the Week and Russell Howard's Good News.
"Excellent, fast-rising comic with pacy anecdotal routines" (Sunday Times)
Helen Keen's shows mix stand-up with science, storytelling and inventively homemade props; spinning comedy out of such arcane and unlikely subjects as 19th-century Arctic exploration, or the development of the robot. Helen's first Edinburgh Fringe Show, It Is Rocket Science! (about the history of the space rocket) won the Buxton Festival Fringe Award for Best Comedy Performance and has been made into a four-part BBC Radio 4 series starring Peter Serafinowicz.
"Startlingly fine entertainmentÂ… crisp, sophisticated comedy" (The Guardian)
Fergus Craig is an accomplished actor, writer, comedian and voice artist with an impressive list of credits to his name, having starred in the BAFTA nominated shows Sorry I've Got No Head and Star Stories. In 2009 he took his debut solo Fergus Craig Still Watches Neighbours to Edinburgh, performing to sold-out venues. He is now a regular on the UK comedy circuit and is supporting Russell Kane on his national tour. |
