| Performance Notes | Junior Classical Coffee Mornings give you the chance to listen to outstanding talent from the Royal College of Music Junior Department at Saturday morning classical recitals in the Hall's Elgar Room.
Born in Seoul, South Korea, in 1996, Hyun-Gi Lee started learning percussion at the age of 11 and moved to the UK with her family when she was 12, joining the RCMJD. She has won the Guildhall Tuned Percussion Competition and Fermo International Competition in both 2009 and 2010, and was a category finalist in BBC Young Musician 2012 Competition.
James Larter, born in 1994, began studying percussion at the age of 10 and gained a place at the RCMJD the following year. In 2009 James gained a place on the prestigious LSO St. Lukes Academy for Timpani and Percussion and he also reached the category finals of BBC Young Musician of the Year in 2010 and again in 2012.
Christina Burke, 16, attends Guildford High School, and is studying percussion at the RCMJD. She has been performing with Surrey county ensembles and orchestras for many years and made her debut at the Hall when she was just 10 years old. |
