| Performance Notes | Since its inception, opera at Glyndebourne has been almost synonymous with Mozart, The Marriage of Figaro being the first work to be performed there, in May 1934. Servants outwit their master again in this latest production, new for 2012, which confirms a recent preference for period instruments.
There will be one interval of 20 minutes, following Act 2.
Semi-staged for the BBC Proms by Ian Rutherford. The production of this opera at Glyndebourne was directed by Michael Grandage and designed by Christopher Oram.
