Performance Notes	The RCM Big Band performs regularly under the direction of Mark Armstrong at their home (the Royal College of Music) and at other local venues. The band receive coaching from eminent jazz musicians including Clark Tracey, Mike Lovatt and Martin Robertson, and regularly collaborates with RCM vocal students. Notable concerts include a performance of Orchestralli with the composer and former Police drummer Stewart Copeland at the RCM Festival of Percussion 2012. This Late Night Jazz concert The Modern Masters will focus on the jazz ensemble repertoire after WW2, the legacy of bebop and the varied personalities and repertoire of the composers and arrangers who have contributed to the evolution of jazz in general, and the big band sound in particular.
