Performance Notes | Since 1999, The Night of 1000 Stars, the sister event to The Night of 1000 Voices, has delighted capacity audiences at the Royal Albert Hall. On Spring Bank Holiday, Sunday May 5, 2013, once again thrill to the sound of some stellar performers from London and New York, with Stephen Disley playing the magnificent organ of the Royal Albert Hall, together with the City of London Philharmonic and the West End Chorus presenting a never to be forgotten night of musicals.
In 2013, The Night of 1000 Stars will be celebrating the works of the great Broadway producer and director, Harold 'Hal' Prince, and will again be for the benefit of The Caron Keating Foundation (for further information, please look here www.caronkeating.org). This wonderful charity makes a considerable difference to individuals and families affected by, and dealing with, cancer. It gives a significant number of grants throughout Britain and is administered by Caron Keatings mother, Gloria Hunniford, and her family.
Featured in 2013 will be some favourite Hal Prince productions including songs from West Side Story, Evita, The Phantom of the Opera, Kiss of the Spiderwoman, A Little Night Music, Sweeney Todd, Follies, Cabaret and Parade. These are just a few of the great shows to be given The Night of 1000 Stars treatment, together with a sprinkling of some that may not be quite so well known.
The West End's distinguished maestros, David Firman and Stuart Morley, will once again supervise the musical forces and director Hugh Wooldridge says 'This evening is a must for all who love musicals. Come along and hear the best performers in the world performing some of the world's greatest songs. Come and join in the fun; come and raise funds for a most splendid charity at the Royal Albert Hall.' |
