| Performance Notes | The London Tango Quartet is the smaller version of the London Tango Orchestra. The group began in 2009 and plays for various milongas, festivals and parties around the London area. It is the first professional traditional "orquesta tipica" in the UK. One of the main goals of the group is to make the richness of the tango music repertoire better known in the UK, as well as providing a live music experience for those who love dancing to tango. The full orchestra performed in the City of London Festival last year, and will be appearing again on July 18. The smaller group was also featured in a documentary on tango music by BBC Persia in 2012. |
