Performance NotesFourth of four performances consisting of 'Der Ring des Nibelungen' by Wagner. Semi-staged; sung in German. A ten second silence ensued at the end of the performance followed by half an hour of applause for Daniel Barenboim and the performers. Barenboim gave a speech and was presented with a framed and mounted image of the red leather programme cover of the 1877 'Wagner Festival', held at the Hall at which Richard Wagner himself had conducted for eight nights.
