| Performance Notes | A special one-off charity fundraiser is coming to the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday 15 April to raise crucial funds for War Child and The Turkey Mozaik Foundation, following the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.
The show will feature sets from Marcus Mumford, Dermot Kennedy, Hozier, James Bay,Anna Calvi and Nilüfer Yanya, as well an exclusive live performance by the newly formed Solidarity Ensemble formed of Turkish, Kurdish, Arab and Alevi musicians from Turkey and Syria. The Solidarity Ensemble features musicians Çigdem Aslan, Dila Vardar, Djanan Turan, Erdal Yapici, Maya Youssef, Suna Alan, Levent Canen, Tahir Palali, Serkan Çakmak, and Suat Karakus.
Broadcaster, musician and actor Jumoké Fashola and the actor Halit Ergenç host the event, with appearances from British actors Olivia Colman and Gugu Mbatha-Raw and comedian Omid Djalili. |
