Performance NotesGlobally renowned award winning composer, musical director, conductor and pianist, Joe Hisaishi, is bringing his highly anticipated ‘Joe Hisaishi – Hisaishi Symphonic’ live show to the Hall, where he’ll be conducting the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Since the 1980s, Joe Hisaishi, has received world-wide acclaim as one of the industry’s most prolific film music composers, working closely with anime director, Hayao Miyazaki, for whom he composed ten film scores, including Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, My Neighbour Totoro, Princess Mononoke and The Wind Rises. Now, for 2024, Hisaishi creates a thrilling musical treat for British audiences, as he realises his film score of the Princess Mononoke Suite in the live format. As part of the performance, Hisaishi and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will also perform Britten 4 Sea Interludes and Symphony Number 2.
